Company: This company seeks experienced writers/editors for a full-time position developing content for the English Tests in Practical English Proficiency.Working conditions:1) Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. plus overtime as needed; occasional weekends2) Paid Leave: Annual paid leave - 10 days, Summer vacation - 6 days, Fall vacation - 7 days3) Christmas season: you can consume your annual leaves3) Salary: 3,800,000yen/year (including two annual bonuses)4) Other compensations: overtime pay, commuting allowance, and other benefits5) One-year renewable contractDuties:1) Write, edit, review, and proofread content for the test reading, listening, speaking, and writing tests according to detailed test specifications. 2) Take part in intensive item-development meetings where content submitted by subcontracted item writers is evaluated and revised.3) Assign and manage subcontracted work, evaluating the performance of item writers and providing feedback and further training.4) Train, manage, and evaluate examiners and raters for the speaking and writing tests.5) Rate responses from the speaking and writing tests.6) Assist at the test sites as an administrator or examiner. 7) Report to senior editors and section managers.8) Liaise and consult with advisors and language-testing scholars.9) Take part in academic conferences and promotional events.10) Maintain courteous and professional communication with colleagues in both English and Japanese.Working environment:The atmosphere in our office is friendly and collaborative. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of committed, professional editors of various nationalities, gain expertise in language testing, further develop his/her writing and editing skills, and directly contribute to an exciting project that is attracting national attention.Requirements:1) Native English speaker2) Bachelor’s degree or higher3) Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills; able to demonstrate exceptional knowledge of spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and style, and the ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in a text 4) Experience teaching English at a Japanese high school, college, or university; or equivalent skills/experience (preferred but not required)5) Advanced Japanese language proficiency (JLPT Level N2 or higher)6) Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office)Application materials:1) Rsum/CV2) Cover letter3) Recent photographThe rsum/CV should include your JLPT score (if applicable) and visa status.
