BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGERS - New Business Sales and Account Management

Salary 9-12 Million JPY + Excellent Bonus + Benefits

Our client is the division of a NYSE quoted multinational. A global leader in outsourced supply chain services including picking, packaging and order fulfillment. The company works with major international pharmaceutical/healthcare manufacturers to provide exceptionally high on-time service levels to stringent regulatory and QA standards with no margin for error. All orders are assembled, packaged and distributed worldwide with total supply chain visibility and control via a network of depots. The company manages the whole process from the project planning stage through regulatory hurdles, warehouse processes, shipping and delivery. Due to growth and expansion, our client is seeking another "sales hunter"/Business Development Manager to join its existing sales/business development team. You can be located in Tokyo or Osaka and will serve their multinational pharmaceutical client base in Japan.

The Roles:

  • Development and acquisition of new business opportunities from new and existing clients
  • Liaising with clients, prepare pricing proposal/ quotations and generally administer the business in Japan.
  • Establish good relationship with clients and ensuring the relationship is maintained through excellent service from Project Management Team and Operations Team, by providing training and supervisory guidance to equip them with the knowledge and understanding on the study/ client requirements
  • Attend to client visits, in charge of presentations of company’s services, marketing gifts and Ad Hoc company events.
  • Account management, making sure clients are provided with excellent service through timely response to all issues throughout the projects.
  • Attend client meetings local and if required overseas as and when required.
  • Closely liaise with the Project Managers and Business Development Managers in other depots in South East Asia to exchange information
  • Responsible for updating order pipelines and related information flow to Senior Management in the business on a monthly basis

The Ideal Person:

  • Degree Level or Equivalent in a science, medicine, or business based subject or demonstrable relevant business experience
  • At least two years previous sales and business development experience, preferably in pharmaceuticals, clinical trials, clinical research, CRO, CRA or related industry
  • You must have a network of business contacts to whom you have sold services in one of the following areas : Pharmaceutical or Clinical Trials Logistics, Clinical Research, CRO, CRA or Healthcare/Medical Equipment or Pharmaceutical Packaging
  • Fluent in Japanese and fluent in English
  • Flexible and adaptable with strong customer management skills.
  • Able to analyse problems and define solutions.
  • Able to work under pressure and to support others within team.
  • The post holder needs to have good organisational, verbal, written and numerical skills
