Technical Service ConsultantThe technical service consultant will perform technical walkdowns of facilities in Japan and support domestic and international requirements.Responsibilities:•Technical support for boiler equipment and problem solving difficult installations.•PLC experience preferred.•Work with Business Development to support clients and develop additional service and parts sales opportunities.•Travel to companies and installations and promote field service through customer service to maintain boiler cleaning equipment, port rodders & sootblowers •Perform credible economic evaluations at plant sites as to whether to rebuild/refurbish/replace boiler cleaning equipment, dampers, material handling equipment and pollution reduction equipment to generate additional business for the unit.•Ability to perform inspections and write/generate inspection reports that include recommended corrective actions and spare parts. •Development and maintenance of customer relationships•Pre-job visits to plan, schedule and estimate outage/installation work.•Travel 90% throughout the Japan servicing boilers in the utility and pulp and paper industries.Experience & Qualifications:• Multi-craft experience in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.• Must be personable with a desire to understand customers needs.• Must be comfortable working around industrial boiler equipment and in confined spaces.• Working knowledge of pumps, motors, and pneumatic equipment.• Previous work as a team leader preferred.• Knowledge of boiler efficiency equipment such as soot blowers and port rodders is helpful.• Must be a self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision.
