School DescriptionEnglish Studio is an English language school based in Setagaya ward, Tokyo. We are a well- established school teaching a variety of classes to ESL and Returnee students. Inquiry-based learning forms the basis of our learning programs, and our priority is to help students achieve their true potential by fostering a lifelong love of learning and openness to new experiences. We focus on creating a nurturing educational environment which enables students to develop their confidence and ability to communicate in English. Position OverviewEnglish Studio is looking for a Head Teacher to supervise effective implementation of school curricula in accordance with our educational philosophy. We are looking for a dedicated, energetic individual with a passion for education, and the ability to nurture teachers’ skills as learning facilitators. The Head Teacher oversees a team of 4 full-time and 3 part-time native English teachers, playing a pivotal role in curriculum development, and liaising closely with the Managing Directors to achieve school objectives. Main Working Responsibilities Academic Duties - Supervise effective implementation of English Studio curricula via staff training, and professional development- Oversee curriculum and resource development- Teach up to 20 hours in a weekly 40 hour block time period Management Duties - Liaise with management and teachers to address teaching-related and other performance issues - Recruit teaching staff- Oversee lesson coverQualificationsRequired: BA/BSc. or equivalentPreferred : MA/MEd.
