Commercial Director Japan BASED - Tokyo, Japan A rapidly-growing medical device business is currently seeking a Commercial Director to strategically grow the Japanese business. The position will be highly autonomous with the right individual putting together and executing the strategy across all sales, marketing and business development functions across the Japanese market. Key responsibilities: Strategic business development of the Japanese business Management and growth of distribution and direct sales network - negotiating contracts, analysis of new markets, training and management of dealers Manage the full sales P&L over $90 million. Developing plans for approaching and growing the Japanese business Directly manage and oversee the commercial team of over 75 employees. Working autonomously to run the Japan business being part of the APAC executive leadership team. Travelling across Japan to meet with distributors, sales team, KOLs, key customers and attend training events/exhibitions/conferences Key requirements: Significant experience within the medical device industry, home infusion experience is not essential but would be highly beneficial Must have Medical Device, FMCG or Healthcare experience. Minimum 10 years in a leadership position Experience in managing a direct sales force and well connected to KOL network across Japan Experienced in business development, within a larger business or in growing up a smaller business from the group upwards to achieve sales targets Strong strategic business acumen - able to put together a strategic plan as to how to approach and grow the Japan market and discuss this with the senior leadership team Trade Marketing experience (directly or indirectly) Able to execute strategic business growth plan Strong communication skills, people-focused and team builder.
